The Opportunity

The Building Respiratory Equity for Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander Health (BREATH) team at The Kids Research Institute Australia iscommitted to improving children's respiratory health through innovativeresearch, clinical studies, and strong partnerships with communities, with aparticular focus on First Nations children.

As a Research Assistant, you will support clinical research projectsthrough participant recruitment, respiratory assessments, data and samplecollection, database management, and research administration. This is ahands-on, participant-facing role with opportunities to contribute tomeaningful respiratory health research.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruit and support children, young people, and families participating in research.
  • Conduct respiratory assessments and collect clinical data and samples.
  • Maintain accurate study records, databases, and research documentation.
  • Assist with data analysis, literature reviews, and research outputs.
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to deliver high-quality research.

Based at our modern offices in Perth Children's Hospital, this is a full time, 12 month fixed termopportunity.

About You

The successful candidate will possessthe following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Health, or a related field (Honours or Masters desirable).
  • Experience working with children and families in a sensitive and professional manner.
  • Strong research and computer skills, including literature reviews and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in clinical research, respiratory testing, or laboratory environments is highly regarded.
