Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistant

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking positive, responsive and professional individuals to join our Out of School Hours Care Assistant on a causal basis. Working before or after school hours, you will be part of a collaborative team creating engaging activities for our students and work to provide a nurturing environment for our students.

The Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistant is responsible for meeting and greeting families as they arrive, ensuring sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed and delivering a range of planned activities for children. The service offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Children have the option of participating in structured activities as well as free-play. The staff working in this service provide positive role models with whom children and parents can form strong, affirming relationships. Attendance numbers may vary from day-to-day but average approximately 50 to 70 students each week.

This position is a casual ongoing opportunity, commencing as soon as possible. We welcome applications from students studying teaching or early childhood education in line with ACECQA National Quality Framework.

You will

  • Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a stimulating and diverse programme relevant to the developmental needs of children attending the service, including those with additional needs.
  • Deliver high-quality activities for children which are safe, fun, stimulating and carry educational value.
  • Establish rapport with our diverse community with a friendly and positive communication style.
  • Assist in organising and maintaining programme materials and resources.
  • Act as an appropriate role model for children.

Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check or registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
