What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacist, you'll provide high-quality pharmacy services that support safe, appropriate and efficient use of medicines. You'll combine clinical knowledge, professional judgement and strong communication skills to support patients and healthcare teams.
Provide clinical pharmacy services within your assigned practice area in line with professional standards and NSW Health requirements.
Review, validate, dispense, compound and check medicines to support timely and safe patient care.
Assess and optimise individual medication therapy and contribute to quality use of medicines initiatives.
Support and oversee pharmacy support staff to ensure safe and effective medication supply.
Contribute to education, continuous improvement, research and the ongoing development of pharmacy services.
Job share applications will be considered. Applicants must clearly state in their application whether they are applying for the full-time position or as part of a job share arrangement (e.g. two days per week). Approval of a job share arrangement will be dependent on securing a suitable applicant to cover the remaining days.

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by tertiary education institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy
Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
Selection Criteria
Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (or eligible for registration within 3 months of commencement). Grade 2 Pharmacists must meet the criteria set out in the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award and are expected to continually demonstrate achievement of at least three of the five listed competencies within the Award.
Demonstrated effective clinical drug knowledge and competence in its application to achieve safe and efficient quality of care.
Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and other stakeholders to improve patient care and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with limited supervision to meet team objectives.
Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiative.
Proven commitment to professional development, continuing education and pharmacy research, including membership of a professional pharmacy association, preferably the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA).
Maintained ability to rotate across WSLHD sites, participate in flexible working hours, on-call, afterhours, weekend and public holiday work as required
