Redpath is commencing an exciting new underground mining project at Ernest Henry Mine near Cloncurry, Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly experienced underground team from the beginning of a major project at one of Australia's leading copper and gold mining operations. With a strong project pipeline, a modern underground fleet, and a genuine commitment to safety, development, and career progression, this role offers long term opportunities for experienced Underground Auto Electricians.

We are seeking motivated, safety focused Underground Auto Electricians to support maintenance activities across our underground equipment fleet and contribute to the successful delivery of this new project.

The Opportunity

  • 14 days on / 14 days off roster
  • 12 hour rotating day and night shifts
  • FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns
  • Work at Ernest Henry Mine, Queensland
  • Join a new underground project from day one
  • Work on a modern underground fleet, including:
    • Development Jumbos
    • Loaders
    • Trucks
    • Shotcrete Equipment
    • Ancillary underground mining equipment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as an Auto Electrician in underground development or production mining
  • Australian recognised Auto Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills on mobile mining equipment
  • Experience working with underground loaders, drill rigs, trucks and ancillary equipment highly regarded
  • Current CPR and LVR certification, or the ability to obtain
  • Current manual driver's licence
  • Ability to pass a pre employment medical and police clearance
  • A proactive approach to safety and teamwork aligned with Redpath's values

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on underground mobile mining equipment
  • Diagnose and rectify faults across electrical, electronic, communication, automation and control systems
  • Perform planned and breakdown maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime
  • Conduct inspections, testing, calibration and component replacements
  • Install, maintain and repair wiring, lighting, sensors, monitoring systems and vehicle electrical components
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with statutory, site and OEM requirements
  • Identify and manage workplace hazards and risks
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and strong safety performance
