Commercial Procurement Manager - Technology Procurement
Create your best future and join Westpac as a Commercial Procurement Manager - Technology Procurement
What's the role?
As a Commercial Manager within Technology Procurement, you'll play an important role in supporting Westpac's technology sourcing activities. Working closely with Senior Commercial Managers and the Executive Commercial Manager, you'll contribute to the delivery of commercial, contractual, and sourcing outcomes across a diverse portfolio of technology suppliers and services.
This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their commercial, contractual, procurement, and stakeholder management capabilities within a large and complex technology environment. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced commercial leaders, take ownership of allocated activities, and progressively build the skills required to lead more complex engagements over time.
In this role, you will support Senior Commercial Managers in delivering sourcing events, contract negotiations, supplier engagements and broader commercial initiatives, while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful outcomes. You will help identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the procurement process and progressively take ownership of lower-complexity transactions and initiatives as you develop the capability to lead more strategic engagements over time.
This is a full-time role based in Sydney, with a hybrid working arrangement in office 2 days per week. It offers the opportunity to develop your commercial career while supporting strategic technology initiatives across the Bank.
What do I need?
This is a unique opportunity to develop your commercial expertise, build strong stakeholder relationships, and gain exposure to complex technology sourcing and supplier environments.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience in commercial management, procurement, contract management, vendor management, legal, technology, consulting, sales, or a related discipline.
- An interest in developing expertise in technology sourcing, commercial negotiations, supplier management, and contracting.
- Sound commercial and analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and support the negotiation of commercial agreements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across business, technology, procurement, risk, legal, and supplier organisations.
- A willingness to learn from senior team members, take on feedback, and progressively increase responsibility and ownership.
- Experience in or exposure to technology or professional services environments will be highly regarded.
