Overview

Summary

The Senior Manager / Head of Procurement ANZ provides strategic leadership and full accountability for country-level procurement operations, overseeing cross-functional teams, governance frameworks, and performance delivery in alignment with regional and global objectives. This role carries end-to-end responsibility for strategy execution, organizational effectiveness, talent leadership, and value creation across all procurement activities.

The Strategic Sourcing / Head of Procurement ANZ sets the strategic direction for the country, translating regional and global priorities into executable procurement strategies that drive sustainable growth, cost efficiency, risk management, and stakeholder confidence. Acting as a senior partner to regional leadership and key internal stakeholders, the role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and ethical business conduct across all procurement functions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the APAC Regional Head, providing strategic country-level leadership and contributing to the development of regional and global procurement strategies, priorities, and initiatives.
  • Define, lead, and execute country procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives, setting clear performance targets, KPIs, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Provide senior leadership to cross-functional and local procurement teams, including workforce planning, capability development, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Oversee all major sourcing initiatives and high-value RFP/RFI/RFQ processes, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships, particularly in complex categories such as IT, Professional Services, Travel, and Production.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards, with particular focus on anti-corruption, risk management, and supplier governance.
  • Act as the primary senior point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring strong partnerships, transparent communication, and effective resolution of escalated operational or commercial issues.
  • Drive transformation and continuous improvement by optimizing procurement processes, implementing best practices, and leveraging digital procurement tools and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, including at least 7-10 years in senior leadership roles with country or regional accountability. Proven track record of defining and executing country-wide or multi-country procurement strategies, delivering sustained cost optimisation, value creation, and risk mitigation in complex, matrixed organisations. Extensive experience governing high-value, complex contracts across IT, Professional Services, Travel, and Production (Media), including executive-level negotiations and supplier relationship management. Deep, authoritative knowledge of procurement operating models, category management, market intelligence, and global best practices, with the ability to anticipate and respond to market and industry shifts. Demonstrated capability to lead, transform, and scale large cross-functional teams, including succession planning, capability building, and performance management against demanding KPIs. Exceptional commercial judgement with advanced negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, including regular interaction with C-suite, regional leadership, and external executive partners. Highly developed analytical and strategic decision-making capability, with the ability to interpret complex financial, operational, and risk data to guide executive-level decisions. Strong programme, transformation, and change management experience, successfully delivering multiple large-scale initiatives in parallel within demanding timelines. Consistently results-driven leader with a demonstrable history of exceeding strategic targets, savings commitments, service-level KPIs, and stakeholder satisfaction benchmarks. Expert-level understanding of regulatory, governance, and compliance frameworks, including anti-corruption, ethical sourcing, third-party risk, and audit requirements.
