Senior Advice Assurance Consultant
About Us
At UniSuper, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional retirement outcomes for our members. With a long history in the University sector, we are a place where future-minded Australians come together.
UniSuper Advice is the Home for Advice Professionals. We provide members with trusted advice that supports confident financial decisions, through personal advice, digital solutions, education and strong partnerships with independent financial advisers. Our work is grounded in professionalism, collaboration, and better retirement outcomes for members.
The Role
This is an opportunity to take your Advice Assurance career beyond monitoring and supervision and play a broader role in shaping quality outcomes across a high-performing advice business. Joining UniSuper's Advice Risk & Governance team, you'll help ensure members receive quality advice that is appropriate, compliant and aligned to their needs, while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the team's assurance framework.
While file reviews and supervision activities remain a core part of the role, you'll also have the opportunity to influence how the function operates. From identifying emerging trends and translating assurance findings into meaningful business insights, through to improving processes, enhancing tools and supporting key stakeholder relationships. You'll play an important role in driving continuous improvement across the advice business.
This role also offers exposure to leadership responsibilities, acting as a trusted deputy to the Senior Manager and helping build capability across the team.
In addition, within this role you will:
- Conduct monitoring and supervision activities to assess the quality and appropriateness of advice provided to members.
- Review adviser files, client interactions and advice practices to identify strengths, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate assurance findings into clear reporting, insights and recommendations that support better business outcomes.
- Contribute to the enhancement of monitoring frameworks, tools and ways of working.
- Build strong relationships with advisers, leaders and key stakeholders across the business.
- Support team capability, onboarding and leadership initiatives while gaining exposure to broader governance and risk activities.
About You
You're an experienced Advice Assurance, Monitoring & Supervision, Advice Risk or Licensing Risk professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with broader business impact. You bring a strong understanding of advice quality, governance and regulatory obligations, but you're equally comfortable building relationships, influencing stakeholders and helping drive better outcomes across an advice business.
This role will suit someone looking to take the next step in their career. You've built credibility through hands-on assurance or risk experience and are ready to broaden your influence beyond day-to-day reviews.
You enjoy identifying trends, solving problems, improving processes and helping others succeed, and you're motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of a high-performing team.
In addition to this you will have:
- Demonstrated experience within Advice Assurance, Monitoring & Supervision, Advice Risk, Licensing Risk or a closely related financial advice environment.
- Strong understanding of advice quality frameworks, regulatory obligations and risk management principles.
- Experience reviewing advice files, assessing advice quality and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to analyse findings, identify themes and translate information into meaningful reporting and practical insights.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills with the confidence to build credibility and influence across a range of audiences.
- A proactive and curious approach, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement, team capability and better ways of working.
