UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Role:

We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Plant Mechanics to join our Plant and Equipment team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy mobile plant and equipment across a major infrastructure project. Working as part of an experienced team, you will play a key role in diagnosing faults, responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

This will be on a FIFO/DIDO basis on a 2:1 roster, based at either of our camps in Tarcutta or Batlow, NSW. All flights, accommodation and meals provided to you. Locals to our project are also encouraged to apply.

About you / Key Requirements:

  • Construction Whitecard
  • Trade Qualification - Cert III
  • Drivers Licence
  • Proven experience working on similar construction-based projects
  • Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles, earth moving equipment or mobile plant
  • Additional high risk work licenses - highly advantageous
  • Work to a high standard and be passionate about what you do
  • Ability to undergo a pre-employment medical
