We're looking for a motivated and analytically minded Principal Regulatory Economist to join our Economic Regulation Division. You will play a key role in shaping regulatory strategy, pricing outcomes and policy positions across our electricity and gas businesses that will support key decisions for the ActewAGL Joint Venture businesses - Evoenergy and ActewAGL Retail. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic thinking, quantitative analysis and stakeholder engagement while working on complex and high-profile regulatory matters. About the role Reporting to the Group Manager Regulatory Pricing and Analysis, you will lead components of regulatory reviews and provide expert economic and regulatory advice across ActewAGL Retail and Evoenergy. You'll work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to develop evidence-based regulatory strategies that support sustainable business outcomes and customer value. You will: Lead the development and delivery of regulatory strategy components for electricity and gas network regulatory reviews. Provide expert advice on retail electricity pricing, methodology reviews and annual price recalibrations. Develop robust economic analysis, financial models, business cases and regulatory submissions. Contribute to regulatory policy development through research, quantitative modelling, advocacy and industry engagement. Support customer and stakeholder engagement programs by presenting complex regulatory concepts in a clear and meaningful way. Provide strategic advice on emerging regulatory issues, including the impacts of energy transformation, customer energy resources and climate-related policy changes. About you You are a commercially minded economist who enjoys solving complex problems and translating analysis into practical recommendations. You thrive in environments where you can influence decision-making and build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. To be successful, you'll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Science/Mathematics or a related discipline. Strong experience applying quantitative, economic or financial techniques to complex business challenges. Advanced Excel modelling and analytical capabilities. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Strong stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities. Experience in economic regulation, competition policy, infrastructure, utilities, energy markets or regulatory consulting will be highly regarded.
