What you'll be doing
The Porter position provides a variety of tasks across Corporate Support Services SESLHD, supporting the patient journey and providing non-clinical support as part of the multidisciplinary team Tasks include transferring of patients and patient related equipment across the facility, soiled linen handling and attendance to clinical emergency response, as well as other porter related tasks. The role is responsible for ensuring timely response to patient flow and facility operational needs and is aligned to infection prevention and control policies.

- Effective communication with the ability to work as part of a team and individually as required
- Demonstrated knowledge of how to keep yourself and others safe in a work environment
- General knowledge and understanding of healthcare environment, including infection prevention and control and waste management
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and meet specified time schedules
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, with varying days and starts times, to provide a 24 hour/ 7 day week service requirement
