About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
- Are skilled in assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and risk management.
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with headspace, families, GPs, and community services.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
