The Opportunity

The Kids Research Institute Australia is one of Australia'sleading medical research organisations, dedicated to improving the health andwellbeing of children, young people and families. The Kulunga Aboriginal Unitworks in partnership with Aboriginal communities to promote culturally secureresearch and meaningful health outcomes.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Aboriginal Community Projects Administrator tojoin our Kulunga Aboriginal Unit in Broome. This role provides essentialadministrative, project coordination and stakeholder engagement support toensure the smooth operation of community-focused research and engagementactivities across the Kimberley.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactfulprojects while working alongside passionate researchers, professional staff andcommunity partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Kulunga team and Kimberley operations.
  • Coordinate meetings, travel, communications, and project logistics to support research and community activities.
  • Manage office administration, procurement, expenses, assets, facilities, and operational requirements.
  • Support the planning and delivery of community events, cultural celebrations, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dates of significance.
  • Build strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders, and colleagues while promoting culturally safe and respectful engagement.

Based in our Broome office, this role is offered in a full time,ongoing capacity.

You are a proactiveand community-minded administrator who enjoys working in a collaborativeenvironment and values building strong relationships with Aboriginalcommunities and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in administration, project support, or office coordination.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and commitment to culturally safe and respectful practices.
