An exciting opportunity exists to join the Australia and New Zealand Acquisition Marketing team as an Assistant Manager, Application Optimisation.

This role is responsible for supporting acquisition growth through the delivery, optimisation and governance of card application experiences across Consumer, Small Business and Corporate portfolios. You will partner across Product, Marketing, Technology, Risk, Operations and external vendors to deliver application enhancements, support strategic initiatives and drive improved customer outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strong project delivery capability with analytical thinking, stakeholder management skills and a passion for solving complex business problems.

Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

  • Strong project management and delivery experience, ideally within digital, operations, acquisition, customer onboarding or financial services environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, governance and risk management.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions, including international teams, and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience managing third-party technology platform providers is advantageous.
  • Own and optimise digital and manual card application journeys across Australia and New Zealand
  • Partner with Product, Risk, New Accounts, Marketing and Technology teams to deliver application enhancements and new capabilities to support acquisition growth and customer outcomes.
  • Lead requirements gathering, testing coordination, launch readiness activities and post-implementation monitoring of application-related projects.
  • Manage relationships with third-party application platform providers and ensure delivery aligns to business requirements, timelines and customer experience objectives.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to improve acquisition conversion, customer experience, operational efficiency and application completion rates.
  • Monitor application performance and customer experience metrics to proactively identify defects and optimisation opportunities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of application processes, requirements, testing outcomes and operational controls to support long-term sustainability and team enablement.
  • Contribute to a team culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
