As our Fuels & Energy East business continues to grow, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from Painters interested in expanding their experience across the bulk storage, fuels, refining and terminal infrastructure sectors. This is an opportunity to become part of a highly experienced team delivering solutions for some of Australia's most critical assets.

You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of fuel terminals, storage facilities, refining infrastructure, brownfield modifications, asset integrity programs, capital projects and operational support activities. You'll work alongside industry experts and develop valuable experience across the full asset lifecycle, from concept and design through to procurement, construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for coating applications through abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, sanding and other approved surface preparation methods.
  • Apply protective coating systems to storage tanks, structural steel, piping, loading facilities and associated infrastructure in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct coating inspections and quality checks, including wet film thickness, dry film thickness and coating condition assessments, to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Safely operate and maintain painting, blasting and coating equipment while adhering to all site safety, environmental and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Identify and report corrosion, coating defects and asset deterioration, working closely with supervisors and inspection teams to support asset integrity programs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, construction and shutdown teams to deliver painting and protective coatings activities safely, efficiently and within project schedules

About you

  • Trade qualified Painter, Blaster/Painter or equivalent, with experience in industrial painting, protective coatings and surface preparation activities.
  • Demonstrated experience working within fuel terminals, bulk storage facilities, oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, energy, mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of coating systems, abrasive blasting, corrosion protection, surface preparation standards and coating application techniques.
  • Experience applying coatings to tanks, structural steel, piping, process equipment and associated infrastructure in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Sound understanding of safety procedures including permit-to-work systems, confined space entry, working at heights and hazardous area requirements within operational facilities.
  • Reliable team player with strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship and the ability to work effectively within maintenance, shutdown and project delivery teams.
