What you'll be doing
The After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) represents the leadership team of the Hospital after hours, and is responsible for the operational management after hours. The AHNM is part of the management team supporting clinical staff in the planning, delivery and evaluation of integrated clinical care; ensuring clinical care for patient within the service is safe, well managed and of the highest quality; and links effectively to the in-hours management team to ensure care provided is continuous.
About You
You are a highly accomplished Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and extensive operational and clinical management experience within complex healthcare environments. You are recognised for your ability to effectively coordinate unit and service activities, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality patient care while maintaining a strong focus on clinical excellence and service outcomes.
You are a confident and decisive leader who excels in fast-paced and challenging environments, demonstrating the ability to prioritise competing demands, make sound decisions during emergencies, and ensure issues are addressed promptly and effectively. Your expertise extends to the management of human, physical and financial resources, enabling you to optimise workforce performance, maintain budget accountability, and support the efficient operation of healthcare services.
With highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, you build productive relationships with staff, patients and stakeholders at all levels. You are proficient in a range of computer applications and clinical information systems, using technology to support service delivery, reporting and operational management. Committed to contemporary leadership practices, you successfully lead change initiatives, foster a positive workplace culture, and apply a strong understanding of current issues affecting the nursing profession to drive continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
