What you'll be doing
To provide management and clinical leadership to the team/unit ensuring the provision of nursing and clinical care is safe and efficient ,while maintaining standards of care that reflect current standards of nursing practices and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to upskill in the Num 2 role and in oncology/haematology/radiation therapy nursing. The successful applicant will work along side the A/Nurse manager MNCCI (who is also the NUM2 for the remainder of the role). MNCCI is a dynamic and progressive department with the support of senior nursing staff. The unit has strong ties with MNCCI Coffs Harbour and the Kempsey/Macksville satellite services.
About You
You are a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. You demonstrate advanced operational and clinical management expertise, enabling you to effectively coordinate unit and service activities while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, quality care, and efficient service delivery. Your ability to manage human, physical, and financial resources within established budget parameters ensures that healthcare services are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with organisational objectives. You are an accomplished leader who fosters a positive and collaborative multidisciplinary team environment, empowering nursing staff to achieve high standards of clinical practice and professional performance.
Your excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills allow you to build strong relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and key stakeholders while facilitating clear and effective communication across all levels of the organisation. You are highly proficient in the use of a broad range of computer applications and digital health systems, supporting accurate documentation, reporting, data analysis, and service management. Through the application of contemporary leadership and change management principles, you successfully lead and support service improvements, workforce development initiatives, and organisational change. You also maintain a strong understanding of current issues impacting the nursing profession and are committed to promoting evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, and excellence in patient-centred care.
