Job Description
Why You'll Love This Role
You'll play a key role in keeping the Recycling Centre Balcatta operating safely and efficiently. Working with specialised equipment, you'll support recycling, resource recovery and engineering operations while contributing to sustainable outcomes across the City.
This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact daily operations, safety performance and service delivery. You'll also have the opportunity to guide team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate loaders, excavators and specialised equipment
- Coordinate material loading and dispatch activities
- Record material movements accurately
- Monitor engineering material stock levels
- Support recycling and waste operations
- Provide technical guidance to operators
- Maintain operational records and inspections
- Promote safe work practices daily
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced plant operator with a strong safety focus and a passion for operational excellence. You'll ideally bring:
- Experience operating construction plant equipment
- HR, HC or MR driver licence
- Plant operating tickets and accreditations
- Traffic management accreditation preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Experience in waste or recycling operations
- Ability to mentor operational employees
- Sound communication and recordkeeping skills
