Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant to join our team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of project and management accounting activities for the Assignment including client billing, budget management and variance analysis, financial reporting and provide senior management with support for accounting and finance issues.

  • Accounting Degree and qualified CPA / CA preferred or working towards
  • 5 years + experience in a similar role
  • Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a particular context

Billing:

  • Ensuring accurate allocation of time and costs to contracted work
  • Ensure alignment of client and internal financial systems to facilitate billing and cost reconciliation
  • Invoice client in accordance with contract
  • Manage customer financial audit processes & ensure resolution is reached
  • Ensure customer payments meet contractual timing
  • Liaises with client representatives, and project personnel to resolve billing queries
  • Reports contract performance and analyses variances eg Dashboard, client report and any other financial reports as agreed with the Contract Manager
  • Undertake the month end close and the submission of various group reporting requirement eg Flash/Bridge/Unbilled and AR analysis
  • Work with Shared Service Centre to ensure allocation of payments to receivables is done timely monthly
  • Ensure rates data changes captured in a timely manner in Oracle and submitted to the client for approval
  • Lead various initiatives to define finance processes and procedures to support the contract
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Performs risk assessment on all financial processes implementing mitigating controls as necessary
  • Review/approve coding of invoices

Month end close/reporting:

  • Reports contract performance and analyses variances eg Dashboard, client report and any other financial reports as agreed with the Contract Manager
  • Undertake the month end close and the submission of various group reporting requirement eg Flash/Bridge/Unbilled and AR analysis
