Work type: Permanent Full-time The Organisation Infrastructure Services group play a critical role in the preserving, maintaining and enhancing Council's extensive asset portfolio including its road network, drainage network, bridges, footpaths, parks and urban forest. The Business Planning and Design consists of over 200 professionals with extensive experience delivering excellence in design of civil and civic infrastructure projects for Council. The branch has a focus on the delivery of environmentally-friendly and community-focused outcomes. Planning and Design have a significant contribution to Council projects and programs including bikeway, library refurbishments, landfill remediation, sports field development, drainage design and rehabilitation and flood damage assessment and redesign. The Role The Drainage Design team provides specialist consultancy services in urban stormwater management, with a focus on the renewal and upgrade of Brisbane's underground stormwater network. The Senior Engineer Drainage Design provides professional advice and consultancy; certifies stormwater and drainage projects; and ensures projects are effectively planned, managed, and delivered within budgetary, time, and quality requirements. We are looking for a senior civil engineer with expertise in stormwater and drainage design who can lead and guide professional team and build and maintain effective relationships with their customers and stakeholders. In this role you will provide expert skills, advice, and ingenuity in drainage and stormwater design manage and undertake design projects ensuring time, cost and quality objectives provide effective and strategic high-level stormwater design advice interpret and apply relevant legislation and guidelines prepare fee proposals and manage contracts focussing on technical and financial aspects certify all civil designs relating to stormwater management, water supply and sewerage reticulation To be successful you will have: RPEQ in Civil Engineering; applicants who are eligible to acquire RPEQ certification will be considered demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing, leading and developing high performance professional design teams demonstrated high level of design skills in stormwater and drainage demonstrated high-level skills, experience and success in project delivery highly effective communication and consultative skills highly demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
