About the Role

As the Senior Technical Officer (Design and Construct), you will provide critical administrative, procurement and contract management support to the City Design and Construction team. Working closely with project managers and key stakeholders, you'll ensure the efficient coordination of operational processes, procurement activities, contract administration, customer enquiries and governance requirements that support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across the municipality.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive professional with construction industry experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You'll deliver

• Coordinate procurement and contract administration activities for City Design and Construction projects
• Manage customer requests, stakeholder enquiries, Councillor and Member of Parliament correspondence
• Support project managers with purchase orders, goods receipts and procurement compliance processes
• Prepare contract documentation, completion certificates, acceptance letters and financial securities administration
• Maintain registers, conduct Landata title searches, process financial transactions and support business operations across the department

What You'll Bring

• Experience in procurement and contract administration within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management principles
• Proven ability to prepare reports and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to build productive relationships and achieve positive stakeholder outcomes
• Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and continuous improvement
