As a registered NDIS provider, we deliver services across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, providing disability accommodation, in-home support, community participation, employment services and NDIS support coordination.
We're looking for an experienced IT Security & Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology team and play a key role in protecting and strengthening Afford's technology environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both cyber security and infrastructure. You'll lead cyber security governance while working across Microsoft cloud technologies, networking, identity management and infrastructure to ensure our systems remain secure, resilient and fit for the future.
About the Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, you'll lead Afford's cyber security governance, risk and compliance activities while supporting the ongoing management and improvement of our IT infrastructure.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external technology partners, you'll help safeguard critical systems, drive continuous improvement and ensure technology supports the delivery of quality services to people with disability.
This role is based at our Parramatta Head Office with hybrid working available. Travel between Afford sites, including occasional interstate travel, is required.
What you'll do
- Lead cyber security governance, risk management and compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain cyber security policies, standards and security frameworks.
- Lead security incident response, vulnerability management and cyber security audits.
- Monitor emerging cyber threats and implement appropriate security controls.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and core infrastructure platforms.
- Support networks, servers, cloud infrastructure and endpoint security technologies.
- Manage business continuity, disaster recovery and cyber resilience initiatives.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver secure, reliable technology services.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You'll be a collaborative IT professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for cyber security. You'll enjoy solving problems, working across a diverse technology environment and partnering with stakeholders to continuously improve security and infrastructure.
You'll also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure and cyber security within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience supporting cyber security governance, risk and compliance activities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Windows Server and cloud technologies.
- Experience with enterprise networking, firewalls and security technologies.
- Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or the ASD Essential Eight.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain one).
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford's pre-employment compliance process.
