An exciting opportunity exists for a reliable and experienced Part-Time Receptionist/Administration Officer 16 hours per week over 2 days. Must be available Thursday and Friday with the ability to assist in providing relief during annual leave. You will be working as part of a small team providing a high standard of secretarial service to the teams within Southcare, Community Aged Care. If you enjoy variety and are an experienced Receptionist with the ability to multitask and are passionate about supporting our elderly, this is the role for you.

Previous reception experience is a must.

You will be working at The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service, a major metropolitan and teaching hospital located in the Sutherland Shire, approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in the suburb of Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

What you'll be doing

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

Provide reception, switchboard and administrative support to a multidisciplinary service and exceptional standard of customer service to aged and extended care clients, families, carers and partner organisations. This role is a permanent part-time role 16 hours per week - Must be available every Thursday and Friday. You will be required to cover our busy reception desk at Southcare. You will work closely with the administration team to support Southcare which is part of The Sutherland Hospital. We are a large multidisciplinary Community Service which is comprised of Community Nursing, Community Rehabilitation, Allied Health and Medical Staff Specialist teams that work cohesively together to assist our elderly to stay fit and remain living at home. This role will work within a small fraction of the Administration team which play an integral part in facilitating the effective coordination and execution of all administrative tasks throughout Southcare.

Selection Criteria:
1. Ability to work autonomously and prioritise with limited direction or guidance
2. Demonstrated experience in computer skills with accurate data entry skills including demonstrated high level knowledge of and experience using Windows, Microsoft Office, Access and Excel based software. Hospital data bases are preferable but not essential.
3. Demonstrated high level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise with limited direction or guidance while carrying out a variety of functions which may be complex in nature and require judgement and problem solving skills.
4. Demonstrated experience with reception duties.
5. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively.
6. Demonstrated customer service commitment and ability to liaise with outside organisations and client groups on behalf of team whilst maintaining confidentiality.
7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to share relief responsibilities with other administrative staff as required.
