About the Opportunity

As the Switchboard Operator, you will play a vital frontline role in delivering a professional and welcoming reception service within the hospital. You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, staff and medical officers, ensuring all enquiries are managed efficiently while supporting the smooth operation of hospital communications systems.

As the Switchboard Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating the main hospital switchboard and paging system, ensuring timely and accurate communication

  • Providing reception services, including managing general and patient enquiries and directing them appropriately

  • Communicating patient location information in line with hospital policies and procedures

  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail for daily collection
