Modbury Hospital's Emergency Department is a busy, community-facing service at the heart of Adelaide's northern suburbs. If you're a registered nurse with a track record in emergency care and a genuine interest in clinical leadership, this part-time ongoing opportunity invites you to step into a role where your influence shapes both patient outcomes and team culture.
Your Role in the DepartmentAs Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will work alongside the Nurse Unit Manager to provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership within the Modbury ED. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the coordination of patient flow, acuity management, and safe staffing across shifts
- Providing direct clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff and students
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and compliance with NALHN policies and standards
- Acting as a point of escalation for complex clinical and interpersonal matters during your rostered hours
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Substantial emergency nursing experience, with confidence across triage and high-acuity presentations
- Demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team and support junior staff through feedback and role modelling
- Sound understanding of patient safety frameworks and accreditation requirements within a public health setting
- Effective communication skills to work across multidisciplinary teams in a pressured environment
- Experience within SA Health or a comparable public hospital network is highly regarded
To be eligible for this position, you must be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
