Challenger Services Group is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Supervisor to lead cleaning and hygiene operations within a large-scale food production facility in Mascot. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the site maintains exceptional sanitation standards, audit readiness, and full compliance with food safety requirements. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will oversee sanitation activities, lead and develop staff, and play a vital role in protecting product quality and food safety outcomes. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Sanitation Supervisor to lead our cleaning operations within our large-scale food production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all production areas, machinery, and surrounding spaces meet the highest levels of cleanliness and food safety. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in sanitation, safety, a deep understanding of Australian hygiene standards, and a proven track record of managing teams in food manufacturing environments. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Sanitation Supervisor, you'll be responsible for: Operational Oversight: Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the sanitation team, ensuring all cleaning schedules are executed precisely to maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with food safety laws and internal protocols. Manage the safe handling, titration, and storage of industrial chemicals. Audit Readiness: Maintain a facility that is always prepared for HACCP, SQF, and FSANZ audits through electronic documentation and physical inspections. Training & Mentorship: Develop and train staff regarding SOPs, chemical safety, Toolbox Talks, and high hygiene standards. Quality Control: Conduct electronic Quality Assurance (QA) reporting to ensure completed and compliant works. Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the Challenger & the client to resolve hygiene-related issues immediately. ABOUT YOU You'll be someone who has: Extensive Experience: 3+ years of experience in sanitation or hygiene roles within a large food production. Proven Leadership: Previous experience in a supervisor or team lead role is mandatory, with a demonstrated ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse team. Firm understanding of HACCP, GMP, and Australian Food Safety Standards. Meticulous Attention to Detail: An uncompromising approach to cleanliness; ensuring no detail is overlooked in the prevention of cross-contamination. Not settling for sub-standard work. Chemical Safety: Strong knowledge of chemical applications, safety data sheets (SDS), and emergency response protocols. Problem-Solving & Communication: "On point" communication skills and the ability to solve operational problems under tight deadlines. Technical Proficiency: Mastery of sanitation equipment and chemical titration. Analytical Thinking: Ability to have good planning in the prevention of mould & pathogens. WHY JOIN CHALLENGER?
