Pinaka is seeking an experienced Computer Network & Systems Administrator to support the availability, security and continual improvement of LS Core production network and integrated ICT services within a Defence environment.
We bring this opportunity to you via a prime contractor supporting Defence.
This is a hands-on, single-incumbent onsite role for someone who can confidently manage enterprise network operations, resolve complex technical issues and maintain secure, well-documented network services with minimal supervision.
What you'll do
- Administer and support enterprise routing, switching, WLAN, firewalls, VPNs and remote-access services.
- Deliver Level 2/3 support, diagnostics, root-cause analysis and incident/problem management.
- Monitor network events and alerts, restore services within agreed timeframes and maintain known-error records.
- Apply and maintain network-security controls including firewall rules, ACLs, IDS/IPS, NAC and certificate/PKI integrations.
- Implement hardening, firmware and patching aligned with Defence security and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain network configurations and baselines, and deliver formal changes with testing, implementation and backout plans.
- Conduct capacity and performance analysis across bandwidth, latency and error rates.
- Support configuration backup/restore, resilience testing and disaster-recovery activities.
- Maintain low-level designs, network diagrams, IP address plans, rack layouts, SOPs, build sheets and BAU runbooks.
- Coordinate maintenance windows, upgrades, warranty/RMA activities and vendor engagement.
- Recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, lifecycle management and network standards.
What we're looking for
- Senior-level experience operating enterprise networks in a BAU or production environment.
- Strong experience across TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs and network-security controls.
- Demonstrated Level 2/3 network support, change, configuration and troubleshooting capability.
- Strong documentation discipline and experience maintaining runbooks and network records.
- Ability to work independently as the sole onsite network administrator.
- Clear, professional communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Highly regarded
- Defence ICT or LS Core 2.0 experience.
- CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE and/or ITIL Foundation.
- OSPF, BGP, QoS, EtherChannel/LAG, STP/RSTP.
- Next-generation firewalls, VPNs, NAC, IDS/IPS, AAA, RADIUS/TACACS+ and PKI.
- Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune/MECM, SIEM, virtualisation, PRTG, syslog, SNMP, NetFlow and telemetry.
To be eligible, you must hold a current NV1 security clearance.
