Following significant investment in new plant and equipment, we're looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead our afternoon shift at Kembla Grange. This is a hands-on, working Team Leader role where you'll lead a small team of Production Operators while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the plant. You'll operate equipment, troubleshoot production issues and support your team on the floor. Working closely with the Site Manager and Maintenance team, you'll play a key role in embedding new equipment and processes, developing operator capability and driving a strong safety culture. You'll be the go-to person on shift for production issues, equipment troubleshooting and keeping the team working safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities Lead, coach and support a team of Production Operators. Operate fixed and mobile plant, including bagging, mixing, palletising and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide first-line mechanical problem solving. Support preventative maintenance activities and work closely with Maintenance to minimise downtime. Train and mentor operators on equipment, safe work practices and production processes. Champion a positive safety culture by leading through actions and holding high standards. Monitor production performance, complete shift reporting and communicate operational priorities. Coordinate with Maintenance, Despatch, Quality and SHE teams to keep production running efficiently. About you: You'll be an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys being hands-on and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves. You're naturally curious about how equipment works, enjoy solving mechanical problems and know how to bring people with you through change. You'll also bring: Experience leading production or operations teams within manufacturing, processing or heavy industry. Strong plant operation experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Excellent mechanical aptitude, with experience troubleshooting production equipment. A proactive leadership style that builds accountability, safety and teamwork. Forklift licence Front End Loader experience or licence (advantageous). Trade qualifications (Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or similar) are highly regarded, but not essential. Experience within cement, concrete, quarrying, building products, mining or similar heavy manufacturing industries will be highly regarded. Why join?
