About the role

We are seeking a Civil Drafter to join our growing Buildings team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Civil Team Lead, you will work closely with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver civil drafting solutions across a diverse portfolio of building projects across Queensland.

Our Buildings team delivers projects across a broad range of sectors including health, education, defence, multi-residential, retail and commercial developments. You will contribute to projects ranging from boutique developments through to large, complex and landmark facilities that have a lasting impact on the communities we serve.

As a Civil Drafter, you will prepare high-quality drawings and design documentation that support the successful delivery of building projects, ensuring outputs meet project requirements, company standards and relevant authority requirements. Working alongside experienced engineers, designers and technical specialists, you'll play an important role in developing coordinated, practical and buildable civil design solutions.

Day to day tasks would involve:

Prepare civil engineering documentation for building and site development projects using established drafting standards and procedures.

Operate CAD and other drafting software to produce plans, sections, details and coordinated civil documentation.

Collaborate with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver accurate and coordinated design packages.

Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards, project requirements and quality procedures.

Assist with managing drawing registers and project deliverables.

Identify and resolve drafting and coordination issues to support efficient project delivery.

Deliver project outcomes within client specifications and expectations

To be successful for this role you'll need:

Tertiary qualification in Computer Aided Design or relevant experience

Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience in an engineering consultancy as a civil drafter

Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirement

Experience in the operation of software design tools such as AutoCAD packages

Experience producing civil drafting documentation for buildings, site development or infrastructure projects

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on the production of quality outputs

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ongoing commitment to professional development through self-study, training and seminars, and maintaining your Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality technical documentation.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
