Fairfield Hospital is offering 1 pharmacy intern position for 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in hospital pharmacy within a supportive and structured training environment.

Our hospital internship will provide you an opportunity to gain experience and skills in all aspects of hospital pharmacy. Providing exposure to a wide range of non-clinical and clinical activities that a hospital service provides. You will also be supported in fulfilling your ITP training requirements in preparation for your general registration.

Fairfield Hospital pharmacy is a team that dedicated in providing education, clinical teaching, and ongoing professional development. Ensuring that we create a supportive and structured approach in helping you gain fundamental knowledge and skills to build upon in your pharmacy career.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  1. Eligible to apply for Supervised Practice arrangements with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to the agreed date for commencement and enrollment in the National Intern Training Program for pharmacists.
  2. Describe a time when you encountered a clinical task, patient scenario, or medication-related issue that challenged your existing knowledge or skills. How did you respond, what steps did you take to develop your understanding, and how did the experience influence your future practice?
  3. Describe a time during employment, a clinical placement, or your studies when you received feedback about your performance, knowledge, or professional behaviour. Explain how you responded to the feedback and the impact it had on your subsequent practice or approach.
  4. Describe a situation where effective communication was critical to achieving a safe or successful outcome. Explain how you adapted your communication to the people involved, managed any challenges or differing viewpoints, and what you learned from the experience.
