Where you'll be working


Royal North Shore Hospital - Pharmacy Department

What you'll be doing

As the Specialist NICU and Paediatric Pharmacist, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy services to neonatal and paediatric patients at Royal North Shore Hospital, supporting optimal medication use and improving patient outcomes across the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Paediatric Unit and Paediatric Emergency Department.
Working closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams, you will deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care, provide specialist medicines advice, contribute to formulary and medication management initiatives, and support the safe and effective use of medicines in neonatal and paediatric populations.
In this specialist role, you will also contribute to education, mentoring and professional development activities for pharmacy staff and students, participate in quality improvement and research initiatives, and help drive best-practice paediatric and neonatal pharmacy services across the hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to practise at an advanced clinical level within a collaborative tertiary healthcare environment, caring for some of the most complex and rewarding patient groups.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  2. Describe a complex clinical case in which you provided advanced pharmacy care to a neonatal and/or paediatric patient in a hospital setting.
    In addition, briefly outline any activities, achievements or experiences that demonstrate your advanced clinical knowledge, judgement and experience in paediatric and neonatal hospital pharmacy practice.
  3. Describe how your professional experience has prepared you to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders (including multi-disciplinary teams and interagency networks) in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  4. Describe your experience leading or contributing to quality improvement, education, medication safety, formulary management, research and/or service development initiatives.
