About the Role
This is a newly created opportunity supporting a recently awarded, large-scale contract within a nationally significant transport hub. You will be part of a highly visible team where your work directly contributes to the appearance, safety, and overall experience of thousands of daily users.
BGIS is seeking experienced Painters to deliver high-quality painting and surface maintenance services across a major, high-traffic aviation precinct in Mascot. Reporting to the Facilities Management team, you will work collaboratively with BGIS teams and key stakeholders to ensure facilities are maintained to the highest presentation and operational standards.
This role will see you undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance, surface preparation, repair works, and painting across a diverse range of assets and environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, take pride in their workmanship, and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where quality, safety, and professionalism are essential.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Complete planned and reactive painting maintenance across buildings and facilities
  • Prepare surfaces including sanding, patching, stripping, cleaning, plaster repairs, and mould treatment
  • Apply paints, coatings, and finishes to internal and external surfaces to a high standard
  • Undertake minor building repairs and surface restoration works as required
  • Carry out water blasting and surface cleaning activities
  • Accurately complete and manage work orders using CMMS systems
  • Capture job completion photos and document variations where required
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in compliance with WHS requirements
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional work areas within a high-traffic environment
  • Collaborate with Facilities Managers and other trades to support seamless site operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive stakeholder relationships
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and site presentation standards
Your Education, Experience & Skills
  • Trade qualification in Painting and Decorating or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial painting and surface preparation
  • Knowledge of paints, coatings, preparation methods, and application techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality finishes
  • Experience in planned and reactive maintenance environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
  • Physically fit and able to work within active operational environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working within aviation, transport, infrastructure, or high-traffic public environments
  • Experience using CMMS or work order management systems
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • ASIC clearance (or willingness to obtain)
