BIKE MECHANIC / ATTENDANT - Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island is seeking a passionate and customer-focused Bike Mechanic / Attendant to join our Adventure Activities team. In this hands-on role, you'll help guests experience the island's scenic trail network by providing expert advice, maintaining our fleet of premium electric mountain bikes, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your Role

As a Bike Mechanic / Attendant, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining our fleet of electric mountain bikes to the highest safety standards. From bike servicing and trail maintenance to guest inductions and retail sales, you'll ensure every rider enjoys a safe, enjoyable, and memorable adventure.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Welcome guests and provide professional E-bike hire experiences
  • Conduct bike hire bookings, reservations, and customer inductions
  • Deliver safety briefings and explain bike operation and trail guidelines
  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, and safety inspections on E-bikes
  • Ensure all bikes are cleaned, maintained, and rental-ready
  • Assist guests with merchandise and technical product sales
  • Complete daily maintenance records and equipment inspections
  • Perform trail inspections and maintenance to ensure safe riding conditions
  • Recover guests and equipment from trails when required
  • Provide recommendations on trails, routes, and riding experiences
  • Process bookings, payments, and customer enquiries efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop and retail environment

What we're looking for

You're passionate about mountain biking and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. With strong mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills, you'll take pride in maintaining high-quality equipment while creating memorable experiences for every guest.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Open/Unrestricted Driver Licence (Essential)
  • First Aid and CPR
  • QLD Working with children (Blue Card) (Essential)
  • Minimum 12 months' experience working in a bicycle workshop (Essential)
  • Minimum 3 years' mountain biking experience (Essential)
  • Strong knowledge of bicycle maintenance and mechanical repairs
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
