The Manager, Learning Hub provides strategic and operational leadership for VU's academic support services, leading the design and delivery of academic skills services to enhance student success, engagement and life long learning. As a member of the Library Leadership Team, the role works in close partnership with Library colleagues and university stakeholders to drive innovation, service excellence and continuous improvement across the student learning experience

The Learning Hub, within the University Library, plays a vital role in supporting student success by providing academic skills development and learning support across Victoria University. Working collaboratively with academic and professional teams, the Learning Hub delivers innovative, student-centred services that enhance learning outcomes and contribute to an inclusive and high-quality educational experience.

About the Role:

As the Manager, Learning Hub, you will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Victoria University's Learning Hub, ensuring students have access to high-quality academic learning support that enhances success and engagement. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and work collaboratively across the University to deliver impactful, student-centred services. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of academic support while contributing to the University's strategic priorities and commitment to an exceptional student experience.

Position Key Duties:

  • Lead the strategic design, development and delivery of Learning Hub services, systems and operations, ensuring alignment with Victoria University's strategic priorities.
  • Manage the Learning Hub's financial, people and technical resources to achieve operational excellence and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the design and delivery of academic learning support services across the University.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture while providing guidance on complex and sensitive matters.
  • Build strong partnerships with academic and professional staff to enhance student learning, strengthen service delivery and support institutional priorities.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of Learning Hub programs, policies and initiatives to ensure contemporary, effective and student-centred services.
  • Monitor service performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and use data and feedback to inform strategic decision-making and enhance student outcomes.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the Learning Hub remains responsive to the evolving needs of students and the University.

Position Details

  • Classification & Salary: HEP 9 $132,942 - $138,314 per annum + 17% employer superannuation
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Continuing
  • Hours per Week: 36.75
  • Location: Footscray Park

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and substantial leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional expertise.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams within a complex organisation.
  • Experience designing, implementing and continuously improving large-scale services, programs or operational initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes.
  • Proven financial and resource management skills, including budget oversight and effective workforce planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues with confidence and professionalism.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-focused culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement
