Financial Adviser - Select Advice
We're seeking a Financial Adviser to join our award-winning Advice business. In this role, you will provide superannuation and limited advice across investments, insurance and contributions to UniSuper members, supporting them to make confident and informed financial decisions. You will work alongside experienced advisers in a highly collaborative environment, with strong systems, support and clear career pathways.
About Us
UniSuper is a place where brilliant thinkers and passionate people come together. As one of Australia's largest super funds, the work you'll do with us makes a meaningful difference today and tomorrow for our members, the planet and for you.
UniSuper Advice is the Home for Advice Professionals. We provide members with trusted advice that supports confident financial decisions, through personal advice, digital solutions, education and strong partnerships with independent financial advisers. Our work is grounded in professionalism, collaboration, and better retirement outcomes for members.
Opportunity
We are looking for a Financial Adviser to join our Select Advice team within UniSuper Advice. This is not a typical intrafund advice role. With the complexity of UniSuper products, including Defined Benefit arrangements and a diverse investment menu with sustainable options, the advice you provide will require strong judgement, clarity and technical confidence.
Select Advice appointments are primarily delivered virtually, with some phone-based meetings. Location is flexible, and we welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates based from any UniSuper office location.
Why You'll Love This Role:
Meaningful Work: You will make a genuine difference by helping members understand their options and feel confident about their super and retirement decisions.
Strong support and quality referrals: Referrals are qualified before they reach you, and advice is offered to members at no additional cost. You will have control over your diary and manage advice end to end.
Career Progression: Many of our Select Advisers progress into Comprehensive Advice roles, with clear development pathways and internal opportunities.
The Home for Advice Professionals: UniSuper has a dedicated employment value proposition designed to attract and retain advice professionals, centred on respect for the profession, high standards, and long-term career sustainability.
What You'll Be Doing:
Reporting to a Senior Financial Adviser, you will be part of a high-performing and supportive team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting virtual and phone-based advice appointments with members
- Thoroughly scoping advice needs at the start of each engagement
- Providing limited advice focused on key member questions, including:
- Which investment option is right for me?
- How much insurance should I have?
- What is the most effective way to contribute to super?
- Preparing and writing your own Statements of Advice in Xplan
- Managing your workflow, appointments and documentation to meet quality and performance standards
- Operating in line with all legislative, regulatory and internal compliance requirements
- Collaborating with colleagues across UniSuper Advice and the broader business
About You
You may be an experienced Financial Adviser or an Associate Adviser who is ready to step confidently into an adviser role. You enjoy building rapport, working at pace, and providing clear, practical advice that members can act on.
You are comfortable working in an environment with change and complexity, and you take ownership of your work while contributing positively to the team.
We are looking for someone who believes in responsible investing and who is passionate about supporting member's financial well-being.
Mandatory requirements:
- Currently listed on the Financial Adviser Register
- FASEA exam successfully completed
- Additional experience in superannuation, scaled advice, or high-volume advice environments will be well regarded, but not essential.
