What you'll be doing
As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide advanced clinical social work services while leading initiatives that strengthen patient care, professional practice and service delivery. You will work autonomously in managing complex cases and provide expert guidance to colleagues across the organisation.

  • Deliver advanced social work assessment and intervention for complex clinical cases

  • Provide clinical consultation, education and supervision to staff and students

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, clinical portfolios and service development

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve person-centred patient outcomes

  • Support evidence-based practice, professional development and high-quality documentation

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated high level clinical experience and understanding of the needs of clients accessing the health care system.

  2. Demonstrated experience in using advanced practice skills to provide high quality comprehensive assessments and care planning for cases in elder abuse, guardianship matters, sudden death and deterioration.

  3. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges in accessing health services/navigating the health system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and refugee client groups

  4. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education with experience in staff and/or student supervision.

  5. Well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.

  6. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  7. Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and / or clinical practice improvement activities

  8. Ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service.
