This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of the NSW health workforce through strategic workforce planning and stakeholder partnership. As Principal Workforce Strategist, you will act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of Health Agencies, supporting the development of workforce plans that align local priorities with broader system objectives.
You will bring together workforce data, labour market insights and stakeholder expertise to develop practical, evidence-informed solutions to complex workforce challenges. Working across a diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, you will help shape the future workforce capability of NSW Health and contribute to improved health outcomes across the state. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that have a lasting impact on the sustainability and effectiveness of the health system
Health Manager Level 4, starting salary from $153,559 - $182,954 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week, work location - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you will be doing
- Partner with Health Agencies to coordinate and facilitate workforce planning activities and support the development of workforce plans aligned to local and system priorities.
- Analyse workforce data, research and environmental trends to identify workforce issues, risks and opportunities and support evidence-based decision making.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support collaboration, consultation and successful workforce planning outcomes.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, correspondence and other strategic advice for senior executives and government stakeholders.
- Contribute to strengthening workforce planning capability across NSW Health and improving the system's capacity to meet future workforce needs.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Extensive experience in workforce planning within a complex organisation or industry, including supporting the development of evidence-informed workforce plans.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret workforce or service data and translate insights into practical planning solutions and recommendations.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships across diverse groups.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
