The Team:

This role works with the statewide CYMHS Patient Flow team - which serves as the triage service for all of CYMHS. As a triage clinician you will work autonomously alongside other highly skilled CYMHS clinicians to provide triage, assessment, and expert advice to consumers, families, and other referrers and stakeholders.

The Role:

• Initial assessment of all contacts and referrals to Statewide CAMHS to determine the nature, and appropriateness of the same, formulate an initial service response, determine appropriate case flow pathway and set priorities for management.
• Deliver assertive, comprehensive community-based mental health services which may include conducting comprehensive initial assessments, mental state examinations, risk assessments, formulating initial management plans, delivering brief psychotherapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and facilitating appropriate and timely ongoing internal and external referrals as required.
• Proactively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and deliver comprehensive and effective handovers of all referrals.

You will need

• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality mental health care in a child and adolescent mental health setting with a particular focus on initial assessments, risk assessments, brief psychological interventions and developing initial management plans.
• Extensive demonstrated experience working in a child and adolescent mental health setting in a leadership or autonomous clinical role and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant philosophies, such as trauma informed care and recovery principles, policies and procedures, and associated legislation, which impact upon children and adolescents' mental health care.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible up to 30 June 2027.

Salary:

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

• Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
• Current Working with Children Registration
