About us:

• ARIA is a comprehensive Oncology Information System and electronic medical record that manages clinical, administrative, and financial workflows for radiation therapy, medical oncology, and haematology practices across the Tasmanian Health Service.
• Coding and Data Collection is performed in ARIA according to a THS agreed Scope and Minimum Dataset, by a specialist team of Clinical Coders (Cancer and Blood Services), led by the Health Information Manager, Clinical Coding (Data Governance and Oncology).
• The team sits within Health Information Management Services (HIMS) and is responsible for the collection, coding, validation, auditing and management of oncology data within the Oncology Information System (OIS). The team supports Cancer and Blood Services state-wide by ensuring is accurate, complete and reliable oncology information is available in ARIA for patient care, quality activities and research.

The Role

• Audit & validate coded oncology data to ensure accuracy, completeness and reliability within the ARIA Oncology Information System
• Coordinate team workflows to support continuous and timely cancer and blood services coding and data collection
• Mentor and support coding and data team members, including new and trainee staff, with oncology-specific expertise
• Collaborate with clinical teams to refine dataset scope and ensure data meets business requirements

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$102,027 to $106,985 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
