Job Description

Registered Nurse - Paediatric Unit

Epworth Richmond | Permanent Part-Time or Full-Time Opportunity

At Epworth Richmond, our Paediatric Unit provides exceptional care to babies, children and adolescents in a supportive, family-centred environment. We are seeking compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses to join our specialised team, caring for patients from 28 days through to 18 years of age across a 19-bed inpatient and 6-bed day procedure unit.

Reporting to the Paediatric Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care while supporting children and their families during what can often be a challenging and stressful time.

The Opportunity

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Provide care to acute paediatric patients, including those requiring Hi-Flow Oxygen Therapy and complex post-operative care such as spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis.
  • Care for patients across a broad range of specialties including Orthopaedics, ENT, Plastics, Oral Maxillofacial, General Surgery, Pain Management and Endocrine services.
  • Support emergency medical admissions through our expanding Paediatric Emergency Department.
  • Deliver patient and family-centred care, educating and supporting parents before and after their child's treatment or surgery.
  • Collaborate within a close-knit multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and their families.

Qualifications

About You

You are a caring and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys building rapport with children, adolescents and their families. You have the ability to put young patients at ease, communicate effectively across all age groups, and provide compassionate care in a busy acute environment.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of two years' acute Paediatric nursing experience.
  • Sound clinical knowledge of Paediatric nursing care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child Safe Standards.
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Nursing (desirable, not essential).

    The annual salary for a full time Registered Nurses - AUD $85,732 - $107,669 + super + entitlements depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
