About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Peer Worker to join the Orange Community Mental Health FACT/OPMHS teams.
In this role, you will draw on your personal experience of accessing mental health services and supports to inspire hope, build trust, and support people living with mental illness to achieve improved health and wellbeing outcomes. You will work alongside consumers to help them navigate services and systems, identify their strengths and goals, and develop social, vocational, and community connections that promote recovery and inclusion.
Working within a recovery-oriented, person-centred, and trauma-informed framework, you will partner with consumers, carers, health professionals, and community organisations to support individuals in living meaningful lives within their communities. You will assist consumers to access a range of community-based supports, including housing, disability services, employment, education, and social opportunities, while promoting choice, self-determination, and recovery.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute your unique lived experience and expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality mental health care and supporting positive recovery outcomes for the community.
