Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District's Integrated and Community Health Service supports children and families across one of Australia's most diverse and rapidly growing populations. While based at The Hills Community Health Centre, you will work across multiple community health sites, including Merrylands and Auburn, to deliver care where it is needed most.

What you'll be doing
As the Child and Family Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2), you will provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist nursing expertise across Child and Family Health services. You will support women, infants and families experiencing psychosocial vulnerability through evidence-based assessment, intervention, consultation and coordinated care.

Provide specialist consultation and expert clinical guidance for complex perinatal, infant and family presentations

Deliver comprehensive perinatal and infant mental health assessments, care planning and targeted interventions

Coordinate care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to support integrated family care pathways

Mentor and support Child and Family Health clinicians, strengthening capability, clinical decision-making and service quality

Identify and manage clinical risk while delivering high-quality, family-centred care and maintaining professional standards

Essential Criteria:

License: NSW Class C driver's license.

Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing and postgraduate certificate in Perinatal and Infant mental health or working towards with completion within 12 months of employment.

Registration: Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1

Selection Criteria:

1. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) plus post graduate qualifications in child and family health nursing with at least 3 years fulltime equivalent clinical experience and postgraduate certificate in Perinatal and infant mental health or working towards with completion within 12 months of employment.

2. Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

3. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and expertise and ability to provide complex care planning for children and their families with psychosocial or emotional vulnerabilities.

4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.

5. Demonstrated clinical expertise, and the ability to lead and foster innovation and quality improvement to enhance care provision within child and family health models of care and service delivery.

6. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership including education and skill development within the specialty of child and family health during the Perinatal period

7. Highly developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) including proficiency in clinical documentation and use of information technology.

8. Advanced assessment and identification of risk, vulnerability, and safety concerns for children and young people and skilled application of mandatory reporting requirements, risk of significant harm (ROSH) assessments, and documentation.
