$80,502 - $88,860 salary package - includes base salary ($70,926 - $78,289), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

As a Technical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching staff by preparing practical training materials, tools, equipment, and workshop environments for assessments, training sessions, and practical activities. You will assist in maintaining woodworking machinery, hand and power tools, materials, and facilities to ensure they are safe, compliant, and ready for use. Working across allied timber disciplines, you will support the delivery of hands-on training by managing resources effectively, coordinating workshop requirements, and ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with Work Health and Safety standards. Drawing on your knowledge of timber trades and strong problem-solving abilities, you will contribute to high-quality, industry-relevant training outcomes for students and apprentices.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

• Trade qualifications appropriate to the role and/or relevant industry experience in the cabinetmaking, furniture and woodworking industry
• Demonstrated ability to service, clean, repair, and safely operate woodwork related workshop machinery
• Practical, administrative, and computer skills for maintenance and record-keeping
• Demonstrated application of practical, administration and computer skills to support supply, stores, maintenance, warehouse related duties and record keeping or similar activities
• Demonstrated customer service, organisational skills and ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision
• A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
