Wehave an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Specialist to join our team. Therole is currently based in Warriewood and will relocate to our new MacquariePark facility in November 2026.

Reporting Line: Business Unit Manager/Technical Business Development Manager and RegionalTechnical Director

Summary:
Executes and leads formulation and testing activities in autonomy
Supports customer projects through advancedtechnical problem-solving and
applicationdevelopment
Ensures quality, safety, and consistency inlab work, contributing to innovation
andcontinuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily work in the lab in accordance within set rules, budget and targetsContributes to customer projects and internal technical development via
• Develop and optimize formulations based on customer briefs and market trends
  Conduct advanced performance testing and interpret results to generate actionable insights, record data with accuracy and consistency in Alchemy
• Lead lab projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results
• Support customer trials and troubleshooting with deep technical expertise
• Prepare GF & PHS based on project briefs
• Preparation of sales aid for customer visit / events / exhibition
• Execution of training in lab for sales team or customers
• Monitoring progress of technical projects generated by commercial team or PM , ensure work undertaken enables meeting internal KPIs associated to Technical support (e.g. won GM & Potential Margin from lab support)
• Propose new equipment that needed by Lab & Provide budget to BUM and regional technical director
• Share observations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Lab Operations & Safety

• Safeguard that all direct and indirect lab activities follow all relevant laws and regulations, as well as all targets set for company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental work
• Maintain lab tidiness and cleanliness, follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with lab procedures
  In charge of Maintain lab equipment
• Monitor and keep lab inventory list updated

Collaboration, Communication & Performance

• Work closely with teams to align lab work with project goals
• Ensure work undertaken enables meeting internal KPIs associated to Technical support (e.g. won GM from lab support)
• Document accurately and in full all results in Alchemy. Prepare reports and communicate findings clearly for internal and external stakeholders
• Secure a good information flow by proper reporting to all who needs information through the correct reporting tool
• To cooperate in a positive and constructive way with all colleagues within the IMCD Group

Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing

• Support training of junior lab staff and contribute to technical knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements
Technically focused with a creative mindset, preferably 3-5yrs experience in lab support to coating or construction Industries/Markets ,

• with experienced formulation skill
• capability of technical problem -solving
  ability of test results analysis and come out next level solution
  embrace learning and innovation
• autonomy and teamwork
• Good skills in local language and English, both spoken and written
• Bachelor degree major in Chemical engineering or Chemistry or any relevant discipline
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working under pressure with good & positive attitude
