Job Description
Nestled between lake, bush and beach on Worimi Country, Myall Shores NRMA Holiday Park is a much-loved getaway for families, couples and travellers looking to slow down and soak up nature. Our on-site cafe/restaurant is a key part of the experience - offering tasty, quality meals that keep guests coming back.
What You'll Do
As our Kitchen Cook, you'll be hands-on in our kitchen, helping to deliver delicious, consistent meals during breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service.
Your day could include:
- Preparing and cooking menu items to standard recipes and presentation
- Assisting with basic menu prep (chopping, marinating, portioning)
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Working closely with the Park and Cafe team to keep service smooth and efficient
- Bringing ideas and energy to improve the customer dining experience
What You'll Bring
You don't need to be a high-end chef - but you do need to care about good food, consistency and teamwork.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have experience as a cook or kitchen hand in a cafe, bistro, pub or similar
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during busy holiday periods
- Understand and follow food safety and hygiene practices
- Can work independently and as part of a small team
- Are reliable, punctual and happy to "pitch in" where needed
- Are available for weekends, public holidays and school holiday periods
- Enjoy working in a holiday park environment and interacting with guests in a friendly, professional manner
Mandatory Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Minimum Certificate III in Kitchen Operations
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
- Safe Food Certificate or Safe Food Supervisor Certificate
Desirable Qualifications
It's highly regarded (but not essential) if you also have:
- Barista skills or formal Barista qualifications
- Experience in a cafe or resort environment
