The Role We are seeking an accomplished Delivery Manager - Maintenance Services to provide strategic and operational leadership of Council's city-wide cleaning and maintenance operations, ensuring safe, reliable, responsive and commercially disciplined service delivery for the community. In this role, you will lead a highly visible 24/7 public-facing operation with accountability for service performance, financial management, workforce leadership and the delivery of agreed outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading four operational business units: Road Cleaning Urban Cleaning - Bus Stops and Graffiti Urban Cleaning - Central Business District and Fortitude Valley Nightshift Operations You will lead a diverse and geographically dispersed operational workforce, supported by supervisory, scheduling and contract management functions. The service operates continuously throughout the year and plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, amenity, safety and presentation of Brisbane's streets, public spaces and transport infrastructure. A key focus of the position will be to champion a strong safety culture and lead initiatives that support the wellbeing and safety of employees, contractors and the broader community. You will establish clear performance expectations, drive continuous improvement, oversee incident and injury management, and ensure the workforce is supported through effective planning, resourcing, fleet management and operational governance. The role also has significant responsibility for emergency response and disaster management activities. As a senior operational leader, you will play a key role in Council's disaster management arrangements, providing leadership during severe weather events, emergency incidents and recovery operations to ensure timely restoration of essential services and public spaces. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be expected to demonstrate visible leadership, foster a values-based culture, drive operational excellence and embed continuous improvement initiatives that achieve budget, safety, service delivery and customer outcomes. To be successful you will have: proven experience leading large operational teams and delivering high-quality customer-focused services strong leadership skills with the ability to develop people, drive performance and build a positive team culture extensive experience managing maintenance, construction or service delivery programs in complex environments excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting, reporting and performance monitoring.
