About the Role
The Emergency Management Program Support Officer provides critical administrative, operational and systems support to the City of Casey's Emergency Management Team, enabling the effective delivery of emergency management and fire prevention programs. The role supports committee and stakeholder activities, maintains emergency management plans, procedures and records, administers emergency management systems, and supports key initiatives such as fire prevention inspections. It also provides administrative assistance during emergency activations to help implement response, relief and recovery activities
What You'll deliver
- Provide administrative support to emergency planning committees, including scheduling, minute-taking, document distribution and liaising with stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining and publishing the Municipal Emergency Management Plan in line with legislative requirements.
- Manage rosters and phone diversions for the Duty Municipal Emergency Management Officer (MEMO) and Municipal Recovery Manager (MRM).
- Support the delivery of the annual fire prevention inspection program.
- Maintain emergency management systems and documentation, including Crisisworks user guides and stakeholder contact lists.
What You'll Bring
- A strong working knowledge of municipal emergency management is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, prioritise workloads and achieve objectives
- within set timeframes.
- Well-developed skills in time management, problem solving and implementation of
- administrative processes.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop solutions when established guidelines are not readily available.
- Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proactive, positive and professional attitude with a flexible approach. Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
