Plant Operators (Heavy Machinery Operator) - multiple positions available

• Full time permanent position

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000

Job description:

• Operate and maintain a fleet of agricultural earthmoving plant to assist with minor agricultural earthworks.
• Driving and manoeuvring heavy machinery and other plant equipment on site
• Selecting and fitting attachments to plant safely
• Undertake drainage maintenance including clearing drains, shaping banks and maintaining water flow systems.
• Maintain farm roads, access tracks, hardstands and machinery operating areas.
• Load, move and place materials including soil, gravel, mulch and agricultural inputs.
• Assist with infrastructure works including culverts, irrigation trenching, site preparation and erosion control.
• Manipulating controls to operate attachments
• Monitoring operation of plant directly and by referring to instruments
• Complete daily pre-start checks on machinery and equipment.
• Monitoring condition of plant, performing minor repairs and reporting mechanical faults
• Follow site plans, markers and verbal instructions to complete works.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, safe and operational condition.

Skills / Experience:

• relevant work experience and trade qualification equivalent of Certificate II or higher, or have a relevant work experience of at least two years and ticket, licences or competency certifications
• Sound understanding of machinery maintenance, servicing requirements and minor repairs.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
