Payroll Officer

Melbourne Grammar School are seeking a diligent and collaborative professional with a commitment to the provision of high quality and proactive payroll services.

Based at our South Yarra campus, the Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting key payroll functions, employee onboarding, and assisting with payroll transition projects. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.

This is a full-time fixed term opportunity until July 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly and fortnightly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant awards, agreements, and legislation

  • Assist with employee entitlements, deductions, and superannuation are processed correctly

  • Prepare and process payroll adjustments, back pays, termination payments and pro rate calculations as required

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll documentation in accordance with legislative and audit requirements

  • Monitor and manage the payroll mailbox, responding to employee queries and resolving issues promptly

  • Facilitate the payroll component of the employee onboarding process, ensuring new hires are set up correctly in payroll systems

  • Assist the project team with the implementation with a new HRMS/Payroll system.

While not essential, MicroPay experience would be highly desirable
