An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist to join the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team at Royal North Shore Hospital. As part of a well-established and growing service supporting more than 170 clinical trials, this specialist role combines advanced cancer pharmacy practice with the opportunity to lead and support Phase I-III clinical trials, helping bring new treatment options to patients through world-class clinical research.

What you'll be doing
As the Clinical Trials Pharmacist - Cancer Care, you will provide advanced specialist clinical pharmacy services for patients participating in Medical Oncology and Haematology clinical trials, with a particular focus on Phase I and early phase oncology research. Working within a multidisciplinary Cancer Care and Clinical Trials team, you will support the delivery of innovative research while ensuring the safe, effective and compliant use of investigational medicines and systemic anti-cancer therapies.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing specialist clinical pharmacy support and comprehensive medicines management for patients receiving investigational medicines and systemic anti-cancer therapies.
Managing the pharmacy aspects of Phase I-III Medical Oncology clinical trials.
Supporting investigator-initiated, collaborative and industry-sponsored research studies from start-up to close-out.
Reviewing protocols and coordinating clinical trial implementation and operational readiness.
Collaborating with oncology, haematology and research teams to facilitate trial delivery and participant care.
Ensuring compliant management of investigational medicines, including dispensing, accountability and reconciliation.
Contributing to service development, quality improvement, education and research initiatives.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
- Describe one clinical trial that you have personally supported within the last three years. Include the trial phase, disease group, your role in study start-up and ongoing management, a protocol-specific issue you encountered, and how you resolved it. Please avoid identifying patients, investigators or sponsors.
- Describe a specific example where you provided advanced clinical pharmacy input for a patient receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy.
- Describe a time when you were managing competing priorities involving multiple stakeholders in a hospital pharmacy or clinical trials setting.
