Job Description

Are you a passionate Dietitian, experienced in Rehabilitation and interested in working with a range of populations?

Epworth is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our casual pool of dietitians within Continuing Care & Support Services, Rehabilitation. This exciting opportunity offers exposure to providing specialist therapeutic care in the private health sector, as well as enabling you to contribute to service development of nutrition services across our three rehabilitation sites.

Applications are invited from innovative, passionate and highly motivated Dietitians committed to evidence-based and multidisciplinary care. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the nutritional needs of referred patients and consumers, working with the multidisciplinary team which includes allied health, nursing, medical and food services teams.

Our rehabilitation service provides inpatient and outpatient nutrition management to both individuals and groups. The caseload is varied and includes neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, cardiac, renal and respiratory patients. The successful candidate will report to the Rehabilitation Manager, Speech Pathology & Dietetics and will be supported by a team of dietitians, speech pathologists and an allied health assistant.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working with adults as a clinical dietitian in a hospital and/or community setting
  • Well-developed expertise providing evidence-based treatment including assessment, intervention, discharge planning and risk management
  • Experience providing and developing appropriate nutrition education in a group setting
  • The ability to work effectively and autonomously in an interdisciplinary team setting with consumers and their families
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent computer literacy skills

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in assessment and clinical management of consumers experiencing neurological and acquired brain injury disorders
  • Experience in assessment and clinical management of patients undergoing both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Proficiency in resource development

  • Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA)
  • Eligibility for the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Program with Dietitians Australia
  • Current working rights within Australia
